Tashkent region

Tashkent region is located in the North-Eastern part of Uzbekistan between the Western part of the Tien Shan mountains and the Syrdarya river. The region borders Kazakhstan in the North and North-West, Namangan region in the East and Tajikistan in the South. The largest city of the region is the capital of Uzbekistan – Tashkent. The sights of Tashkent are striking in their diversity: these are archaeological monuments of the Zoroastrian times, which are more than 2200 years old, and architectural masterpieces of the middle ages, and monumental palaces of the late 19th century, and no less graceful buildings of modernity. Here, from the noisy web of city roads, you can see in the distant haze the snow-capped peaks of Chimgan, behind which the dawn hides in the morning. Oriental bazaars, as hundreds of years ago, come to life with the first rays of the sun and attract visitors with an abundance of juicy fruits and vegetables, thick aromas of freshly baked bread, cakes and samosa. The cultural life of the capital does not stop for a second: the city is rich in museums, theaters and exhibition centers; cafes, restaurants and nightclubs; hotels, parks and squares. In the summer heat you can hide from the hot sun at the murmuring fountains, in the shade of the alleys of numerous parks or in the cool Tashkent metro.
